Monroe County Medical Society's Quality Collaborative promotes the implementation of high quality health care in the nine county area including Monroe, Orleans, Genesee, Livingston, Steuben, Ontario, Wayne, Seneca and Yates Counties.         

The goal of the Collaborative is to serve as a unified, objective, clear, consistent physician voice advocating for quality improvement by: 

• providing physicians with information, education and tools to help them continue to provide evidence-based medicine
• developing and assisting in the implementation of community clinical guidelines and best practices  
• assisting in the implementation of data -driven, outcome-oriented quality improvement initiatives 
• working collaboratively with other community partners focused on addressing quality improvement and health care disparities.

The Initiative is being overseen by a diverse group of practicing physicians and medical leadership from the Monroe County Medical Society; Greater Rochester Individual Practice Association; The Monroe Plan Inc.; Rochester General Health System; University of Rochester Medical Center/Strong Health; Unity Health; FF Thompson; Monroe County Department of Health; Rochester Health; Rochester Regional Healthcare Association; Excellus BlueCross BlueShield and MVP, Inc. 

The Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency, embarking on quality improvement efforts, has joined the collaborative as well as the Rochester Business Alliance. John McIntyre, MD, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, University of Rochester Medical Center, Past President, American Psychiatric Association and Rochester Academy of Medicine, member of the AMA's Council on Medical Service and Board member of the MCMS, chairs the Collaborative.

This website currently contains information about: community wide clinical guidelines developed by the Quality Collaborative, the Medicare Physician Quality Reporting Initiative, Meaningful Use and other useful provider and patient information focused on enhancing the quality of preventive as well as chronic care.
