The Monroe County Medical Society's Community-wide Clinical Guidelines Initiative has recently changed its focus along with its name. The Initiative is now focused on a broader goal - that of promoting the implementation of high quality health care. We have a new name -- Monroe County Medical Society Quality Collaborative. We are in the process of establishing a new Steering Commitee for the Collaborative as well.
The goal of the Collaborative is to serve as the unifed, objective, clear, consistent physician voice advocating for quality improvement by:
- providing physicians with information, education and tools to facilitate the implementation of evidence-based medicine
- being actively involved in the conception, development and implementation of community-wide data-driven, outcome-oriented projects focused on increasing the quality of health care
- working collaboratively with other community-partners focused on addressing quality improvement and health care disparities.
The Initiative will be overseen by a Steering Committee comprised of medical leadership from Excellus BlueCross BlueShield; Greater Rochester Independent Practice Association; Monroe County Health Department; MCMS; The Monroe Plan; MVP, Inc.; Rochester General Health System; Rochester Individual Practice Association; Rochester Regional Healthcare Association; University of Rochester Medical Center/Strong Health; Unity Health. The Finger Lakes Health Systems Agency, embarking on quality improvement efforts, has joined the collaborative as well. Jack McIntyre, MD, Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, University of Rochester Medical Center, Past President, American Psychiatric Association and Rochester Academy of Medicine, member of the AMA's Council on Medical Service and Board member of the MCMS, chairs the Collaborative.
This website is in transition. It contains some guidelines developed by the Community-wide Clinical Guidelines Initiative and other useful guidelines, provider information and patient tools focused on preventive as well as chronic care.
We are constantly updating and adding tools to this website; check back frequently.
